Last updated: April 17, 2025

This tutorial covers how to create an entity or trust that is created underneath an existing trust.

Common examples of this include:

  • Marital or Family Trusts created by a revocable trust at the death of the grantor

  • Inherited IRAs created from a client’s retirement account

  • Separate trusts for each beneficiary created by a pot trust at an event in the future

    • For example, the Children’s Trust breaks into Child 1 Trust, Child 2 Trust

  • Testamentary charitable lead or charitable remainder trusts created at the death of a client
